Costa Mesa and Newport Beach cops sittin’ in a tree,
C-H-E-C-K-P-O-I-N-T-I-N-G.
That’s right, boozehounds, the neighboring coastal cities hold separate DUI/drivers license checkpoints tonight.
Both operations start at 8 p.m., but Newport Beach’s ends at 2 a.m. Saturday or a half hour earlier than Costa Mesa’s.
Only the Costa Mesa Police Department has disclosed a location: at Bear and Baker streets.
Funding comes to each agency from California Office of Traffic Safety grants, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
