Bomba Estéreo

Bomba Estéreo, a quintet exported from Colombia, fuses cumbia with Latin dance and electronica to create what they call “electro tropical,” which is exactly as fiery as it sounds. The group found stateside success with the 2009 album Blow Up (their third), and quickly started making rounds on the next-hot-thing circuit with shows at South By Southwest and Bonnaroo as well as convenient musical background placement on both an episode of Dexter and in the film Limitless. But perhaps the most notable achievement was the band's inclusion in MTV Iggy's list of the 25 best new bands in the world. So check them out this week and watch the Observatory melt into a wicked, writhing dance party.
