Blame Powell, Giuliani, Phelps, Holtz and Rice for the Traffic Around Honda Center

The Honda Center in Anaheim warns motorists that the streets, freeways and exits around the arena will experience heavy traffic between 7 and 9 a.m. today.

Center officials blame Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Michael Phelps, Lou Holtz and Condoleeza Rice for the expected Sig-Alerts.

No, those sports and political superstars are not participating in the most random auto-caravan ever conceived.

They are among the speakers generating the traffic into the Honda Center–during the heart of the morning rush hour.

Those speakers and others are on the bill for the sold-out “Get Motivated” seminar, which the Hondans describe as “an action-packed,
fun-filled, explosive, exciting, inspiring, skill-building business
event that is world famous for its mega-watt superstar speakers and
spectacular stage production.”

The center felt it was necessary to inform “local businesses
and media in an effort to alert residents, fans, and local employees.
We suggest that drivers give themselves extra travel time in case of
delays, and that fans attending the event arrive early.

Thanks for caring, Honda Center! Wish you cared that much after Ducks games, when your rent-a-cops force my Focus to go not to the nearby freeway entrance, but some gawdforsaken corner of Orange. Yuck!
