Beachwood BBQ To Raffle Off 130 Pints of Pliny The Younger

We just got news that'll leave beer geeks salivating. Beachwood BBQ has Pliny The Younger–130 pints of it–and they're raffling it all away.
To honor the memory of Tony Carbone, a friend of the restaurant who died of cancer, Beachwood is hosting a charity raffle at its Seal Beach and Long Beach locations. You can purchase raffle tickets for $5 each (no limit!) starting at noon on Jan. 17 until Feb. 18 at 10 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Melanoma Research Foundation.

On a live webcast on Feb. 20, 130 tickets will be drawn, each good for a pint of Russian River's cult beer. Winners will be notified via phone or email, and have 10 days to redeem their suds at the location of purchase.
More about the man they're celebrating:
Tony Carbone was a loving son, brother and husband. He was a gifted musician and inspiring Long Beach elementary school teacher. In 2005, at the age of 31 he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma, the deadliest type of skin cancer. It soon traveled to his brain and the odds were against him. However, he never gave up hope and battled the disease for 3 years. Sadly he lost his fight on March 6, 2008 at the age of 34.
Tony was one of a kind. He was always the life of the party. Anyone that was lucky enough to have met him would say how funny, original, honest and kind he was. His passing has left a gaping hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Yet the way he lived his life has served as an inspiration to those he left behind; living life to the fullest everyday, pursuing your passion and doing it with a loving heart and smile.
Pliny The Younger, a triple IPA, was named the world's best beer by Beer Advocate magazine last year. People around the country have waited for hours to sample the super-hoppy beast of an ale. It'd be pretty awesome to win some for five bucks, and support a good cause while doing so–so do it!
