Avenged Sevenfold Wins Three Awards at Golden Gods

Avenged Sevenfold was a big winner at Revolver Magazine's 2011 Golden Gods award show last night. Held at Club Nokia, the Huntington Beach group won “Album of the Year” for their latest set, Nightmare, “Best Vocalist” for M. Shadows and “Best Guitarists” for Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance.

They also performed live as headliners, covering Pantera's “Mouth For War” with Vinnie Paul and Guns N' Roses' “It's So Easy” with Duff McKagan.

Despite missing their drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, Avenged Sevenfold is having a very good year. “So Far Away,” about The Rev, is getting a lot of airplay, as did “Welcome to the Family” and “Nightmare,” which hit No. 1 on the Active Rock singles. Nightmare also debuted on the Billboard album chart at No. 1, topping Billboard's Rock, Hard Rock, and Digital charts.
