Law enforcement officials are seeking the public's assistance to help identify potential additional victims of a former Santa Ana High School science teacher facing charges for unlawful sexual intercourse with an underage student and possession of child pornography.
The Orange County district attorney's office (OCDA) in conjunction with the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) issued the alert late yesterday against 45-year-old Alvar Albert Gonzalez, who also managed an anime club for teenagers.
Authorities claim that Gonzalez, who was locked in jail this morning on $20,000 bail, had sex on multiple occasions in 2013 and 2014 with a female student in a classroom and made an explicit video of her.
The case opened when another female student complained Gonzalez inappropriately touched her, a move that led to the discovery of the primary victim and the teacher's Sept. 4 arrest, according to a press announcement.
Deputy District Attorney Ann Fawaz is running the sexual assault prosecution and encourages anyone with possible additional information to contact SAPD Detective Javier Aceves at 714-245-85-42 or OCDA Supervising Investigator Mark Gutierrez at 714-347-8794.
