Aushua

Ok, bad news first: Aushua lead singer Nathan Gammill’s voice bears more than a passing resemblance to Bono’s. But who cares? In the end, he’s not quite Bono’s vocal doppleganger, and the rest of the band’s sound is solid—sort of a Broken Social Scene meets the Killers. Gammill even successfully fleshes out his already sonorous crooning with augmented choral arraignments in the spirit of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros—thus lending the music a triumphant victory lap quality. And as an added bonus, the band hails from right here in the heart of Orange County. It’s the classic story of the hometown band making good. So check them out, and fill your ears with the sweet sounds of victory.

Mondays, 9 p.m. Starts: March 1. Continues through March 31, 2010
