Two Panorama City men were held after a police dog led Huntington Beach cops to nearly $1.3 million worth of cocaine hidden in a car that had been pulled over, according to authorities.
Antonio Tzampop, 44, and Jose Campos, 39, were booked at Surf City's jail on suspicion of transporting a controlled substance, in this case 27 kilograms of blow.
The pair had been in a black Nissan Sentra pulled over at Edinger Avenue and Countess Drive for a traffic violation, police Lt. Mitch O'Brien explained to City News Service.
A search of the Sentra caused a police dog to get excited about a large tire in the trunk that
did not fit the car. It was the tire that contained the coke, which has a street value of nearly $1.3 million, according to O'Brien.
