Like the 2014 calendar, the countywide anti-DUI winter campaign is nearing the end–but not without a flurry of operations starting tonight.
]
The Anaheim Police Department has saturation patrols scheduled from 8 tonight through 3 a.m. Wednesday. These operations have special units blanketing streets known for drunken driving stops, crashes and deaths.
Anaheim joins the police departments of Irvine, Placentia, Westminster and Brea in holding more saturation patrols from 8 p.m. Wednesday through 3 a.m. Thursday.
Fountain Valley cops and Orange County sheriff's deputies have said they may hold spot saturation patrols in their coverage areas through year's end.
Police in Anaheim Police Department have also warned they may conduct DUI/drivers license checkpoints through the end of the year.
Funding for all the agencies' operations comes from California Office of Traffic Safety grants, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
