One of the two 14-year-old boys repeatedly molested by Anthony Serrano is suing the Santa Ana boxing coach, the County of Orange, Undisputed Champ Boxing Club and the Orange County Youth Commission.
Serrano, 45, was sentenced in March to two years in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender for life after pleading guilty to four felony counts of lewd acts on a child.

The unidentified teen, who is represented by Thomas Cifarelli of Irvine, is seeking punitive damages for fraud, sexual battery, failure to warn, negligence, negligent hiring and retention, intentional infliction of emotional distress, gender violence and sexual harassment.
His civil complaint filed in Orange County Superior Court states he was 12 when he joined the boxing club in 2009 and Serrano became his coach. The older man liked his student so much, the complaint states, that he kissed the boy on the cheek in March 2011. Serrano would go on to ply the boy with gifts like clothes, shoes and a necklace, the suit adds.
The boy was raped and otherwise sexually abused by Serrano between June 2011 and March 2012, at the coach's home, the boxing club and hotels across state lines during boxing-related trips, according to the complaint.
The coach is further accused in court documents of having stalked the boy through texts and Facebook starting in January 2012. The teen's mother claimed to have repeatedly contacted the Orange County Youth Commission to make the creeping stop.
The complaint accuses the commission of failing to fire Serrano out of fear of a wrongful termination suit. The county and its youth commission are alleged to have been informed of Serrano's “inappropriate sexual activity with another boxer at the boxing club in 2008” and of having failed to implement safeguards to protect the teen and other boys.
