If you check out Animals as Leaders tonight, be sure to hold on to your face. Once guitarist Tosin Abasi starts blasting sonic sheets of music from his eight-string guitar and drummer Navene Koperweis taps out his cardiac-skipping rhythms, your head may be little more than a stump of bone supporting a few clumps of smoldering hair. These guys are technical metal to the core, reminiscent of Pelican or the Fucking Champs, but with 10 times the chops.
