At a press conference Monday where Orange County law enforcement officials provided some details on their case against alleged serial killers Franc Cano and Steven Dean Gordon, who are accused of murdering four women, Anaheim Police Chief Raul Quezada said investigators are "confident" there is at least a fifth victim.
His department released a description that person Tuesday afternoon in hopes the public can help find her.
Lt. Bob Dunn, an Anaheim Police spokesman, released a statement that reads, in part:
As Detectives continue the investigation, we are asking for the public's help in identifying a fifth victim. The victim is believed to be an African American female, in her early 20's, short / petite stature, black hair, and with numerous tattoos about her body. She may have ties to the city of Compton, California.
It is believed this victim was last seen between February 14 and February 16, 2014, near Katella Avenue and Orangewood Avenue or Beach Boulevard north of Katella Avenue. She likely checked into a local motel and did not check out, leaving behind her belongings.
Detectives have canvassed both areas and distributed flyers detailing the aforementioned information. A copy of that flyer is attached.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS, or www.occrimestoppers.org or text OCCS and your tip to CRIMES (274637). You may remain anonymous.
