Anaheim Braces for “OC Carmageddon” . . . with a Sobriety Checkpoint?

You'd think with crowds Saturday pouring in and out of the Disney Resort thanks to the California Adventure re-do, the Angels playing the Diamondbacks at the Big A, a volleyball tournament at the convention center and a concert at the Grove, the Anaheim Police traffic division would have enough on its hands.

Think again: the force is conducting a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on a busy thoroughfare Saturday night.

It'll be somewhere on Lincoln Avenue from 8 p.m. through 3 a.m. Sunday, according to a statement from the department.

Oh, and it's in addition to the ones we noted this morning:

Garden Grove, Costa Mesa Hold Checkpoints, While Lawyer Offers Low-Cost DUI Defense

There will also be no rest for the weary: a sold-out Honda Center the next night hosts the biggest musical act in the universe, One Direction. Prepare thy ears for high-pitched wails, Anaheimers.

If you must venture into Anaheim this weekend, don't. Or, at least consider public transportation. There is a special OCTA web page dedicated to this very clusterfuck: octa.net/anaheimevents. Or, check out metrolinktrains.com.
