In need of some Audio Therapy? The earthStonez will see you now.
The Los Angeles and Las Vegas-based underground collective of female
hip-hop musicians, have finally released their anticipated full-length
album. The multiracial group, which once rolled six deep but has since
reconfigured to four core members – Fawksie 1, Youthinazia, Asa Lianess,
and T.I.W.A.E.I.S. – offered the following update to its faithful followers on Facebook:
ANNUAL NATIONAL DAY of PROTEST TO STOP POLICE BRUTALITY, REPRESSION, AND
THE CRIMINALIZATION OF A GENERATION, EARTHSTONEZ IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE
“AUDIO THERAPY”. DOWNLOAD FREE TILL THE END OF OCTOBER!
]
Translation: you have from now until Halloween to get all 23 tracks of the album off the group's bandcamp site without spending a penny! “It took a lot of time,” laughs Fawksie 1 reflecting on the process. Audio Therapy, officially released on October 22nd, proves to have been definitely worth the wait. Re-mastered tracks that honor the work of the former members in addition to all new songs anchor the effort. Skillfull rapping, singing, turntablism, dope beats and well-crafted interludes are all on full display. From the onset, the title track, 'Resisters' and 'Fox Camouflage' set a powerful tone for the album whose spiritual and political rhymes define the message throughout.
Fawksie 1 notes that a Las Vegas album release show is in the works as well as another date in Berkeley. Hopefully, Audio Therapy will see its way to OC.
