Ale To The Chief! Now You Can Make The White House Beer At Home

You asked. They answered. Folks, this is government transparency at its finest.
When it was revealed that the White House has a secret brewery, a savvy homebrewer filed a FOIA request to get the recipes for the beers it produces. Companies are already cashing in on this American milestone. Internet homebrew supply shop Northern Brewer is selling two homebrew kits that include all the ingredients you need to make the beer President Obama drinks. The company describes the Honey Ale as being “built on a big foundation of malt with strong tones of biscuit and toffee” and Honey Porter as having “generous applications of sweet caramel and toasty Munich malts.” While the White House beer uses honey from the First Lady's bee hive in her garden, Northern Brewer says its own honey “comes from non-partisan sources.”
