A 25-year-old Santa Ana resident has been arrested for the October slayings of two Garden Grove teens that police said were gang-related at the time.
Adrian Cruz De La Riva was arrested on suspicion of murder after Garden Grove’s SWAT team served a search warrant at 7 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment in the 600 block of West Washington Avenue, Santa Ana.
The search warrant was based on physical evidence collected from the Oct. 2, 2015, fatal shootings of the two boys in the 12600 block of Keel Avenue, Garden Grove, according to police Lt. Bob Bogue. The 16- and 17-year-old victims have not been identified because they were minors.
No weapon was recovered from the scene, according to police, who ask anyone with information regarding the shooting to call the Garden Grove Police Homicide Unit at 714.741.5800.
De La Riva is currently being held at Orange County Jail.
