Abdel Chehada, Ex-Teacher, Accused of Illegal Sex with Female Los Alamitos High Student


A former North Orange County Regional Occupation Program (NOCROP)
teacher assigned to Los Alamitos High School was arrested near his Huntington Beach home over the weekend for allegedly having engaged in unlawful sex acts with a female student in
2012. Abdel Chehada, 43, who left NOCROP the same year, was booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana and held on $100,000 bail.

The investigation of Chehada has been going on since October 2012, when officials at the high school received an anonymous tip about an an inappropriate sexual relationship between the teacher and student, according to a Los Alamitos Police statement.

Detectives could not confirm Chehada and the student had an ongoing affair, but the pair are believed to have engaged in unspecified sex acts between May to October 2012, according to the statements, which indicates the girl confided to investigators about unlawful incidents this past March.

The investigation is ongoing as police try to determine if there are other underage victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Los Alamitos Police
