Aaron Paul Widera, Anaheim Teacher Alleged to Possess Kiddie Porn, Sparks Parent Meeting
After Aaron Paul Widera entered his plea to one felony count each of possession of matter depicting a minor engaging in sexual conduct and sending/bringing obscene matter into the state for sale, Superior Court Judge Laura Laesecke immediately sentenced the 39-year-old to two years and eight months in prison.
Laesecke also ordered the Long Beach resident to register as a sex offender and for his computer to be destroyed, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office told City News Service.
After Widera revealed on a messaging site that he possessed a large collection of child pornography, and made it known that he had a social media profile where child pornography images could be downloaded, he was arrested on Aug. 23, 2013. Long Beach Police served a search warrant at his home and discovered child pornography videos and images.
He was placed on leave from South Junior High after police informed Anaheim school officials of his arrest, a district official previously disclosed. Widera had also taught in the past at Anaheim and Long Beach high schools.
