Police officers who pulled over an Uber driver in Costa Mesa say they found more than three lady passengers in his 2013 Nissan Maxima.
A concealed knife, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and several “Xanax bars” in a small container were found in the car, according to police Lt. Greg Scott.
Running driver Ramon Iribe's name produced something else: an outstanding arrest warrant, Scott said.
What was supposed to be a routine traffic stop happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 400 block Fair Drive, where the three adult female passengers were released without incident.
Not so fast for 23-year-old Iribe, who was arrested on the outstanding warrant as well as on suspicion of possession of a concealed dagger, transporting a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance without a prescription.
The Corona resident was booked into Orange County Jail on $35,000 bail, Scott said.
