Sure, the Irvine Great Park may seem like an inexorably stalled vanity project for Irvine's longtime political don. It may be tainted by scandals, and we may be a little suspicious about how soon and how well the $65 million dollar construction its board just approved will be executed.
But… pumpkins!
]
Yes, it's true. Free pumpkins for anyone under the age of 12 tomorrow
at the Great Park's “Spooky Hangar,” starting at 1 p.m. While
gourd-like squash supplies last, of course.
There'll also be a pumpkin carving demonstration, carnival games, and a chance for kids to trick or treat and march in a parade (?) at 3 p.m.
And the whole thing is a food drive, too, for the Orange County Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank. Families attending should bring donations of nonperishable foods.
Admission is free, parking is $8. Details here!
