How many Jews does it take to make a kickass boat party? At least ten 13 years old or older. (Author's note: Google “minyan.”). From Feb. 24-26, Long Beach (or “Tel Aviv West,” as no one but me has ever called it) will host the Eighth Annual Jewlicious Festival. Taking place on the historic ocean liner the Queen Mary, the event will be a celebration of Jewish culture, history, music and food (the good stuff, not the seder crap).

It is not all entertainers, however. Jewish intellectuals and religious leaders will speak on topics ranging from messianism and kabbalah to social justice and the military. Festival organizer Rabbi Yonah Bookstein will even discuss Occupy Jerusalem and its implications. Tickets for the event range from $20 for a Saturday night ticket all the way up to $600 for a deluxe suite on the ship hotel, VIP access to the entire event, including wine tasting (kosher only, natch) and a sweet gift bag full of Jew-swag. So whether you are a Member of the Tribe, need financial advice or are just into short, hairy men, it will be a mitzvah to attend. And your mother will be so pleased.
