The OC Fair & Event Center released some fun facts about the Orange County Fair that ended its 23-day run in Costa Mesa on Aug. 10.

Here are nine:
1) It was packed
1.3 million visitors came through the turnstiles, which is about the same as last year and the second-highest turnout since the first OC Fair in 1890.
2) It was oily
40,000 pounds of vegetable oil were used for deep-fried Doritos, Oreos, frog legs and other dipped delights.
3) It was piggy
19 piglets were born at Centennial Farm.
4) No, REALLY piggy
Fairgoers ate 20,000 pounds of bacon.

5) It was oily and piggy
Speaking of bacon, deep frying and pigging out, 30,000 deep-fried, bacon-wrapped Jack Daniel's churros were served.
6) It was Jacked-up
Speaking of Jack, 99,1.75-liter bottles of the whiskey were also used for those deep-fried, bacon-wrapped Jack Daniel's churros.
7) Ooop!
The very thought of that last item made me throw up in my mouth.
8) It was wine-y
More than 34,800 glasses were served at the Wine Courtyard.
