It's at G&M Gas Station, 8472 Katella Ave. (corner of Dale Avenue), Stanton, but only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Operators of the app GasBuddy, in partnership with Huntington Beach-based G&M Oil, have been “taking over” Southern California gas stations and surprising drivers with record-low gas prices that haven't been seen since 2009.

Orange County was chosen as a spot to give drivers a price break because we constantly rank top in the nation for the most expensive fuel–often more than a buck a gallon higher than the rest of the country.

“This year Southern California has been plagued with sudden and huge price spikes,” says Allison Mac, GasBuddy's director of public relations. “Our mission has always been to help people save money at the pump. This week we are taking it a step further and literally providing the cheapest gas possible to a place that could use the relief.”

The real point is, of course, to draw attention to her company's app, which provides real-time fuel prices at more than 130,000 unique petrol stations in the U.S. and Canada. To download the free app for iOS, Android, Blackberry or Windows, visit www.gasbuddy.com.
