Taste Of Balboa This Sunday

Attending a Taste of 'X' isn't all that different from a restaurant week. You're paying less for food, right? The selling point of a “Taste” is one's ability to try a variety of foods in a compact amount of time and space. We walk, we eat, and then we repeat. To participate in one of these dining circles, all you have to do is ante up.

Please don't confuse Taste of Balboa with Taste of Newport. For starters, Balboa is strictly a daytime event, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's also family friendly, with science experiments and model boat building. Chalk painting artists will be decorating streets, while vintage cars and Newport to Ensenada race boats will be docked for a closer look.

For eats, you'll find at least a dozen places representing Balboa and Newport. Favorites include Sabatino's Lido Shipyard Sausage Company, Mint Leaf Thai Cuisine and Cucina Alessa. Bites range from $1 – $10 and will utilize a ticket system. The event will take both paper and plastic, so no need to stop at the ATM.
