I'm not a beer drinker, but I full-heartedly endorse the suds renaissance our fair county is experiencing documented by Michelle earlier this year. In that spirit of camaraderie, I will most likely join the beer race (I'm a member of the Bourbon People) in their greatest local festival: the OC Brew Ha Ha, scheduled for Sept. 10 at Hidden Valley Park in Irvine.
Most of the local big boys will be there--Bruery and Bootlegger's, of course, along with Haven, BJ's, Noble Ale, and a chingo of others. Cost is $40, and comes with a festival glass, 10 four-ounce tastes, four seminars for nerds like me who love lectures, free food samples (although the food pickings right now seem a bit slim...), and--by far the most important thing for Southern Californians--free parking! More info over at Brew Ha Ha's website--see you there!
