If You Bought Nutella in the Last Four Years, You May Be Eligible for a Class-Action Lawsuit Settlement
Nutella USA FB page
Just when we think we've seen it all, along comes the sweet smell of hazelnut lawsuits. Sounding more like an April Fool's scheme, this comes courtesy of Ferrero USA, Inc., the makers of Nutella. You know, that product Kobe used to hawk (and the only sports reference you'll ever see me make).
Here's what you need to know:
If you purchased a Nutella in California between August 1, 2009 and January 23, 2012, or in any other state between January 1, 2008 and February 3, 2012, you may be eligible to receive a payment from a proposed class action settlement.
We kid you not. If you must know why, it has something to do with claims made by Ferrero that the spread is much healthier than it really is. Uh, if you actually believe that, we're not sure you even deserve a refund. Members can claim up to $4 per jar of Nutella, with a maximum award of $20 per household. Hey, that covers the prix-fixe at Marche Moderne, or a dozen tchotchkes at Daiso! To file a claim, head over to this website.
