What You Missed: Comic-Con International, the Devil's Playground Burlesque, Rage Against the Machine, the Offspring

Heeeey. What'd you miss this weekend? We had a good one, with some of us down in San Diego for the 2010 Comic-Con International. We attended some panels, saw some celebrities, went to some parties, sure… but the best event of the weekend? The Devil's Playground Comic Comp. burlesque show, where the now infamous troupe put on a best of-type compilation show, featuring characters like Cat Woman, Link, Tank Girl, Darth Vader and more.

Nearly-naked gals in nerdy costumes aside, we also checked out Rage Against the Machine and Conor Oberst's Soundstrike Benefit in Los Angeles and the Offspring and 311 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine. More photos and details after the jump.

Comic-Con! International! 2010! San Diego Convention Center! This year's annual nerd pilgrimage took place July 22-25 and featured all sorts of goodies: Exclusive panels, big celebrities, and, best of all, the cosplayers. Take a look at all the photos here.

Rage Against the Machine and Conor Oberst put on a rousing Soundstrike Benefit at the Hollywood Palladium on Friday night in protest of Arizona SB 1070. Los Jornaleros Del Norte also performed. Click here to see all the pictures.

The Devil's Playground burlesque troupe presented the “greatest fantasy burlesque show on earth,” with a compilation performance of their greatest hits: Comic Comp. 2010 at the Voyeur in San Diego. Gals were dressed up as video game characters (Link!), Star Wars (Darth!) and comic book vixens (Cat Woman! Tank Girl!). The night's line-up of performers included Courtney Cruz, Lucy Fur, Mia Vixen, Sin Fisted, Olivia Bellafonte, Kitty Cadillac. The show took place at Voyeur on Saturday night. See all the very much NSFW photos by Christopher Victorio right here.

Yeaaaaaah, bro! The Offspring performed at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine on July 24, 2010. 311 and Pepper also performed. See the slideshow here.
