We attended the OC Music Awards Live Band Finals, caught Stone Temple Pilots at the Fox, Glassjaw at the Glass House and Infected Mushroom at the City National Grove of Anaheim. On Sunday, we headed out to the Huntington Beach Pier to help pay tribute to surf legend Chuck Allen.

On the night of Feb. 25, 2011, the OC Music Awards held its Live Band Finals at the Galaxy Concert Theatre in Santa Ana. BLOK, Kiev, Road to Alaska, the Steelwells and We are the Arsenal competed. Winner? The Steelwells. Congratulations! See more photos here.
A memorial and paddle-out were held in the memory of Chuck Allen on Feb. 27, 2011. Allen was responsible for giving the amateur versions of the two action sports a central identity. In 1977, he co-founded the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA), and in 1988, he helped to organize the United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA). For more info on Allen, check out the blog post here. See the entire slideshow here.
