OC Weekly's music blog, Heard Mentality, presented Exene Cervenka at Big's in Fullerton on the night of March 11, 2011. The very-awesome Phranc (the self-described “all-American Jewish lesbian folk singer”) provided support. The show benefited Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which provides financial assistance to all types of career musicians who are struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability or age-related problems. On March 12, 2011, attendees at the Best of the West Chowderfest were able to sample one-of-a-kind seafood chowders presented by award-winning local chefs and restaurants such as Michael Poompan of Sip Lounge/Renaissance Long Beach, Paul Buchanan of Primal Alchemy, Jeff Thurston of Parker's Lighthouse, Paul Upton of Savor . . .
