Lea Michele Nose Best
Fox's Glee star Lea Michele is happy to say that despite the advice, she has resisted getting a nose job.
To those who think she should have gotten the surgery, she has one thing to say:
"Fuck those people."
The singing actress who plays Glee's Rachel Barry was advised in the beginning of her career to undergo rhinoplasty surgery because her nose was too big.
Yet, the young actress refused to do the surgery, and in an interview with GQ magazine, it's clear that she take pride in her perfectly imperfect nose.
"If anybody needed it, I probably did," she admits, but it wasn't worth transforming her appearance.
She plays one of eight members of an unpopular high school glee club in Fox's hit show, which finds the kids embracing their musical talents while battling the typical struggles of American teenagers. Becoming a gleek equals social suicide, yet each character on the show achieves the confidence needed to overcome the stigmas they face.
Similarly, Michele has not let the criticism regarding her nose pressure her into getting the surgery. Instead, she embraces her features and continues to do what she loves best.
"My mom always told me, growing up, 'Barbra Streisand didn't get a nose job. You're not getting a nose job.' "
She has said that her decision not to get a nose job makes her work on Glee more meaningful.
"That's why I'm proud to be on a positive show and to be a voice for girls and say, 'You don't need to look like everybody else. Love who you are.' "
