"We’re honest; people understand that," Pixies' frontman Black Francis told the-talks.com "They’re able to make a connection because we’re not acting. We’re not pretending. It’s very real and because it’s very real the music is a bit more timeless. It isn’t overly associated with a particular time, a particular year, or a particular fashion. It is its own thing."

The timelessness of the Pixies' appeal is why hoards of millennials are searching for that song they heard on Samsung's latest commercial for the Galaxy S7 smartphone. The sad reality is they are not going to realize it's a cover song and are going to think "Where Is My Mind" was written by Nada Surf.

The Pixies are currently on a world tour, promoting their latest album

Head Carrier

, which was released in September.
