HARD Lineup Announced; Tents Pitched in Many SoCal Dudes' Skinny Jeans

HARD—a nü-rave extravaganza held in downtown Los Angeles—will take place July 19 at the Shrine Expo Hall. Tix go on sale May 5 at all Ticketbastard locations and here. The event's sponsored by Nitrus, Dim Mak Records, and Dance Right, with help from MySpace.com and URB magazine.

HARD debuted on New Year's Eve 2007; if you remember it, you probably weren't there. N*E*R*D and MSTRKRFT will be headlining the summer edition of HARD (only artists using all caps qualify for such lofty slots). It should be a night (and morning) of deeply spiritual booger-sugar intake.

Here are a couple of videos to whet your appetite.

HARD RETURNS WITH ALL-STAR LINE-UP FOR SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL;
N*E*R*D N MSTRKRFT TO HEADLINE JULY 19 IN DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES

LOS ANGELES, April 29, 2008 – Harder. Better. Faster. Stronger. HARD returns July 19 with an all-star genre-bending line-up, featuring hip-hop/rocker heavyweights N*E*R*D and electro kings MSTRKRFT, at a new location – The Shrine Expo Hall in downtown Los Angeles. The all-ages, all-night spectacular will take place across two stages from 9 pm until 4 am. Tickets go on sale May 5 at all Ticketmaster locations and ticketmaster.com. A limited amount of VIP packages will also be available.

The HARD electrodome will host the skittish sounds of MSTRKRFT and their electro brethren Steve Aoki, Italian up-and-comers the Bloody Beetroots, German techno star Miles Dyson, KCRW's Jason Bentley, electrohouse New Yorker Kill the Noise and the grand architect of the evening Destructo, all performing in front of a giant, 30-foot screen with live visuals provided by video jockey Vello Virkhaus, best known for his eye-popping work with Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police and Sandra Collins.

Presenting sponsors Nitrus, Dim Mak Records and Dance Right are pulling out all the stops for their second event, this time adding a HARD Mini skatepark, featuring stairs, rails and a euro gap. Outside, pro skaters will be shredding it up adjacent to the HARD Outdoor stage with live performances by Philly party starters Spank Rock, Chi-town rapstress Kid Sister, Kanye West's right hand man A-Trak and showstopping headliners N*E*R*D. Additional sponsors include MySpace.com and URB magazine.

Having made headlines for ushering in the New Year with the triumvirate of Justice, Peaches, 2 Live Crew and more than 20 others at the inaugural event HARD NYE, HARD returns to make summer even hotter. In addition to a variety of stunning visuals, the event will feature full bars, an abundance of apparel for sale and an assortment of ethnic/organic food vendors to ensure the party goes into the early hours of the morning. If you thought NYE was impressive, prepare to be destroyed this summer.
