Guest Blogger: Joey Winter of the Steelwells on Third Night of Silverlake Lounge Residency in LA

Editor's note: Fullerton five-piece the Steelwells are playing Mondays this month at LA's Silverlake Lounge, where in recent years the venue has hosted Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses, Neko Case and a secret show by Beck, just to name a few. Each week, Steelwells singer-guitarist Joey Winter shares his thoughts on the performance. Here's the third installment.

Night No. 3 at Silverlake Lounge with Aushua, Wake Up Lucid, and the Monthlies, and the first night of Storm Watch 2010!!! Despite all the panic over the rain (I know, I know, there was a giant tornado and the earth stopped turning),  we had a fantastic turnout. Those that came early were treated to my apple cranberry cookies that I am planning to make again this coming Monday due to popular demand. I will not, however, have milk available so you may have to wash it down at the bar. But at least you won't start the evening drinking on an empty stomach.

You may have noticed by now that I have a slight obsession with food. My obsession for good food rivals my obsession for good music. So, if anyone has any recommendations please feel free to hit me up. We actually will be doing some restaurant reviews on our blog as we tend to eat wherever we are playing. Be sure to take a peek now and again at our blog http://thesteelwells.blogspot.com/ and we will keep you posted on what's good cookin' by some of your favorite venues.

This upcoming Monday night we have one hell of a lineup with Dusty Roads and the River Band, Mississippi Man, and Eugene & the 1914. Once again a night of great people, great music, and the best cookies you'll ever eat. Make sure to be there by 9 p.m. when the show starts so you can catch everyone. Every single band is worth settling in for the evening and checking out if you're not already a fan. Once again we will be at El 7 Mares at about 6:30 p.m. for fish tacos, so if you want to join us for dinner we would love to hang out. We are endlessly grateful for all the support you guys have given us and hope you enjoy the new songs we threw into the set. Feel free to let us know what you think of them!

Lastly, we played Tuesday at the Continental Room in Fullerton for the OCMA's and it was a giant success with over 600 in attendance. We had a great time playing at one of our most loved spots in Orange County and everyone that came out and sang along made us all feel like superstars–so thank you everyone that showed up and shared the love! The bands all played great sets. It was a great night. See you Monday!
