Gettin Made: A Bubbling Wabi Brook of Craftiness

Julie Brown (Not the “Cuz I'm a Blonde” singer) of Etsy shop Wabi Brook Studio comes to us from the Great White North. (That's Canada, to you geography flunkies.) I love shops like hers, with a bit of variety in the arts and crafts offerings. Her jewelry and artwork is eco-inspired and nature friendly, with many pieces that are either one of a kind or limited editions.

Julie's life is just as varied as the items in her shop–she describes herself as “a mostly self-taught artist, wife, mother, (mostly) retired equestrian trainer/coach, menagerie manager, metal worker, paint pusher, chief cook and bottle washer, earth child, student of life, and photographer. Let's take a look at some of her work!

After the jump, drift down the stream into Wabi Brook Studios.

I love the finish on this necklace–that brushed texture on the metal really adds something to it! This necklace is great for a few different types of folks–those who love horses, those who love silhouettes, and mafia members that want to send a warning to those that have wronged them.

Looking for affordable original artwork for your home? Water lilies are a great peaceful addition to your walls, and the greens and neutrals in the background would complement a variety of different decorating styles.

These stacking rings are so cute! In keeping with the nature-inspired theme of Wabi Brook Studios, each ring is hammered to have a bark texture around it. I also love how each one is made to order, to make them that much more special.

Looking for artwork that's a little less spendy? Think about finding some small frames for ACEOs to hang in your pad. ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals–they're sized at 2.5″ by 3.5″, and can be original artwork or reproductions. Julie Brown has a slew of ACEOs like these vintage-feeling bright yellow flowers for you to check out!
