Capital Cities Talk Aesthetic and Process

Capital Cities released a new single titled “Vowels” last month. Based on a few cryptic Facebook posts from the band, fans speculate a new album will soon follow.

The L.A.-based synth-pop duo of Sebu Simonian and Ryan Merchant originally found each other on Craigslist when Simonian created an ad offering his services as a producer.

“We basically independently released [“Safe and Sound”] and promoted it on our own, made our own DIY music video,” Simonian told onmilwaukee.com. “So it was a very gradual climb.”

Today, “Safe and Sound” currently has over 293,509,220 views on YouTube.

Capital Cities will be performing at The Observatory in Santa Ana on November 22. You can listen to the band's latest single below.
