Deadheads Zombie Flick Sells Out World Premiere at Newport Beach Film Festival

*Showtimes confirmed after the jump …

It takes a village to raise a child, but it took a flick about a pair of zombies taking a road trip to find love to remind local cinephiles that they'd better buy tickets now to the Newport Beach Film Festival, which runs from April 28 to May 5.

That's because Deadheads, aided by fan buzz and a glowing Fangora preview, sold out its Friday night, April 29, world premiere screening four days after it was announced.

The festival has responded by scheduling at least one encore screening: some time after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3. The Deadheads home page shows a 7:45 p.m. start time, while the festival's online program shows 7:15 p.m. at Starlight Cinemas in Triangle Square, Costa Mesa (as well as another showing at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, at the Lido, Newport Beach). Keep in mind the schedule is often juggled around in the days leading up to the festival.

CONFIRMATION:

Erik Forssell, the festival's director of programming, confirms the official screenings of Deadheads are set for 8:15 p.m. Friday, April 29 (sold out), and 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 3–both at Starlight Cinemas in Triangle Square, Costa Mesa.
