in jail.

Daniel Moreno, 19, was fishing off the pier March 14 when the pelican swooped down and tried to steal his catch.
Moreno retaliation's broke the bird's beak–and earned the stomper an arrest by Newport Beach Police and the jail stint.
The pelican was treated at a Huntington Beach care center that is used to dealing with the cruelty local fishermen routinely inflict on seabirds.
