Willkommen, Bienvenue

Weimar Germany was quite the place to be. Sure, it led to one of the darkest periods in modern human history, but the combination of a devestated post-war German economy and a liberal government led to an extraordinarily decadent culture from 1919 to 1933. Songwriting team Kander and Ebb worked with director Harold Prince to fashion a remarkably unique musical, Cabaret, about a saucy ex-pat showgirl and her relationship with writer Cliff Bradshaw during those heady years. Hunger Artists Theatre Co. is staging their own version of this classic musical that’s just racy enough to convince you to enjoy musicals again.

Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 7 p.m.; Thu., Aug. 28, 8 p.m. Starts: July 25. Continues through Sept. 1, 2008
