Swimming in the Shallows

With a plot that includes a man going on a date with a gay shark and a woman who wants to live like the Buddhist monks in Thailand but whose husband continues to buy her material possessions, it’s difficult to know what to expect from Adam Bock’s Swimming in the Shallows. Throw in some dream sequences and a lesbian wedding, and this modern comedy is surely complete. Described by the New York Times as a “screwy little jewel of a play,” Swimming in the Shallows makes its Orange County premiere at Theatre Out, the county’s only gay and lesbian theatre company. Expect plenty of adult humor from this 6-member cast, who keep you laughing all night and loving Bock’s wit and charm.

Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: May 24. Continues through June 29, 2013
