The LA-based Troubadour Theater Co. has been busting up audiences for more than a decade with their campy parodies set to pop/rock tunage—Oth-E-L-O, Fleetwood MacBeth, Frosty the Snowmanilow and their biggest hit to date, It’s a Stevie Wonderful Life! This time around, it’s Sophocles’ Oedipus the King meets the King of Rock ‘n Roll, and we can only imagine what the Greek playwright would think of the Pompadoured One crooning affections to his mother via “Burning Love.” A stone-in, either way.
