As Sundance and Cannes edge closer and closer to the mainstream, independent artists are looking to other festivals at which to screen their work. The Milan Film Festival is one of these, providing a perfect place for indie filmmakers to spread their wings. The documentary Screaming Masterpiece -which was screened as part of the festival-is about the Icelandic indie music scene whose performers make noise from the capital city of Reykjavik. The film analyzes their new styles and searches for the secret to the unique sound. Some say it's the influence of the old mystic music from the past or the smooth arctic winds that willow through the banks of Iceland. This kind of poetry and metaphor provides the mystery that makes the music so evocative. Bjork, Bang Gang, Minus and many other bands preform and speak about the scene.
