If you’ve spent the past year and a half in mourning after Live announced their breakup, wondering if you’d ever hear ’90s alternative-rock hits such as “Selling the Drama” again, it’s time to cheer up: Ed Kowalczyk, the band’s lead singer, is now touring solo and playing a bunch of their hits. (He also plays a few tracks off his debut solo album, cleverly titled Alive—but that probably gets a cooler reception.) What may be less happy news for Kowalczyk himself is the fact that a big part of Live’s breakup was due to the other three members of the band pursuing legal action against him over various financial disputes, suggesting he may have taken the lyrics of “I Alone” a little too literally.
