Bubblefest XIV

The “education” pitch for the Discovery Science Center’s 14th Bubblefest is that it teaches kids science such as “surface tension, elasticity, air pressure, molecular properties, and geometric properties.” Whether you’re an adult or child, do you really need to rationalize why you just have to see sixteen-time Guinness World Record holder and Bubble Scientist, Fan Yang, create the “Gazillion Bubble Show”? Vaguely reminiscent of Spongebob Squarepants—but a thousand times cooler—Yang creates a sudsy carnival of spinning bubbles, bouncing bubbles, smoking bubbles, and even a bubble carousel. For a small fee, you can even step into your own bubble and take a photo home as proof!
