2001: A Space Odyssey
The year is 2001 and mankind finds itself in a race against technology to attain the next step in evolution. After tripping a monolith placed on the moon by...something... and sending out a signal that humans have evolved so far, Dave Bowman, Frank Poole, the computer HAL and a team of astronauts are sent to Jupiter. After it's release in April 1968 (a good year before we actually did land on the moon), Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey still remains one of the greatest treasures in cinema history.
