Target X Calypso St. Barth Collection Is Calyp-so Stylin'!

Get ready for yet another battle at your local Target come this May: Just in time for warm(er) weather, Calypso St. Barth is releasing a limited-edition collection for the home and your closet. And it looks like it's made just for Orange Countians. (Whether that's a good thing is up to you to decide.)

Easy-to-wear flowy maxi skirts and dresses for women and kids, crocheted bikinis, dip-dye ombre, embroidered off-shoulder, canvas totes . . . it's summer, by way of the French West Indies. Some of the clothing is actually made of linen and silk—so just 'cause it's from Target doesn't mean you shouldn't splurge on that extra dry cleaning.

Launched in St. Barth in 1992, Calypso is still a relatively young brand known for its casual, “globally inspired” resort-wear, with influences from Morocco, India, Brazil and beyond. In fact, South Coast Plaza features a St. Barth boutique with a nearly all-white boho interior. In addition to its own pieces, the boutique also carries favorite pieces from lines such as Velvet and AG.

While the clothing is for the somewhat-older brunching-at-Las-Brisas/vacationing-in-the-French-Riviera sect, it's the home goods that have me getting ready to elbow Orange County moms out of my way. Featuring bright, fun pieces that will look good year-round in any home, the dishes, candle holders, throw pillows, glassware and vases in coral, turquoise, orange and chartreuse highlight that relaxing Moroccan feel so many designers have been tapping into.

The two Moroccan-style poufs (which cost hundreds anywhere else) are the serious, serious highlights of the Target X Calypso St. Barth collection, and they come in a fantastic metallic silver and gold . . . and for just $59.99 each. Take that, fancypants furniture stores!

As usual for Target collaborations, everything in the collection will be affordable, ranging from $1.99 to $79.99. Look for the Calypso St. Barth capsule collection at your local Target starting May 1.'
