Sunset Boulevard

"All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up." 1950's Sunset Boulevard is still praised as one of the greatest films in history. Starring Gloria Swanson and William Holden, the film explores the seedy side of Hollywood and the dark aftermath of fame as a struggling screenwriter gets sucked into the fantasy world of a fading movie starlet hungry for a comeback. This week, the Bay Theater in Seal Beach screens this cinematic classic of murder and madness.
