Jaimes Palacio Reading

OC poet Jaimes Palacio is a definite star on the local troubadourian scene, and if you’ve never heard or read his poem “Everybody Had Something Better to Do,” you should. (“We could have been smarter/But we watched COPS…We could have been honest/But it was too much fun to destroy someone.”) A frequent host of Poet’s Café on KPFK and contributor to The Nervous Breakdown, Palacio has much to say about humanity and often says it well. See for yourself this week when the lyrist reads his work in Long Beach and attempts to expand and connect to your noodle. Apparently, he did that to Kristen Stewart, which he really should blurb in his next book.
