17 y.o. Boy is Latest Huntington Beach Riots Arrestee; Police Also Post 27 Suspect Photos

The Huntington Beach Police Department has announced the arrest of a 17-year-old in connection with the July 28 riots downtown and has posted through its greatest tool in apprehending suspects these days–social media–photos of more vandals they would like to pop.

The latest is a 17-year-old Huntington Beach boy arrested for allegedly throwing a can of beer at police officers on Main Street and various other acts of vandalism.

The youth, who was not identified because of his age, was booked on suspicion of assault on a peace officer, felony vandalism, inciting a riot and refusing to disperse when ordered, according to police, who add he was held at Orange County Juvenile Hall.

“We greatly appreciate all the assistance members of the public have provided,” the agency mentions on its Facebook page. “More arrests are anticipated in the near future.”

The HBPD Facebook page is also there where you'll find an album with 27 photos of rioting suspects.

“We are requesting the public not name individuals they possibly recognize in the form of a comment to the picture (in case it is not accurate),” reads some accompanying text. “Each image is given a number. Please forward tips and any video or picture files to hb*******@gm***.com or call our tip line 714-375-5066.”
