Once focused on, well, coffee, Starbucks has evolved into a one-stop beverage empire. Its latest offering may be handcrafted sodas: lemon ale, spiced root beer and ginger ale.
Starbucks Melody, an unofficial Starbucks info site, reports that the company is testing the items, which are naturally brewed and made individually. Baristas place each drink in a machine that shakes it while adding C02. Previously, when Starbucks tested sparkling beverages, they simply added carbonated water.

Blogger Melody tried root beer and called it “crazy good.” While the drink is advertised as “spiced,” she says the spice element is “absolutely subtle.”
No word yet on whether the handcrafted sodas will make it to a national launch.
