Smallpools came into radar when they released their singles “Dreaming” and “Over N Over” among others, which introduced listeners to their upbeat, electro-pop sound. The songs now appear on their debut album released this year, Lovetap. If there’s one prominent characteristic about this album, it’s their devotion to happy music. You’ll find classically indie pop instrumentation a la Passion Pit along with choruses passionately sung by, well, a chorus. So if you ever need a healthy form of escapism, try this album. Within twenty seconds of “Over N Over” you’ll find yourself singing along to it–not thinking once about the hardships of real life.
